MUSETTE is a superlight, surprisingly roomy bag for all your snacks, secret plans and illicit grins. Inspired by the classic musette bags used by pro cyclists on long-distance rides, but modernized, refined, and conjured into something new. What sets it apart?

Its dimensions (345 × 265 mm) were chosen to hold four cycling water bottles with some room left over for energy bars. That’s our favorite unit of measurement. Four bidons is about the same as: twelve doughnuts, a full year’s back issues of your favorite magazine or a full two-person camp kitchen kit: stove, gas, mug, spoon, two freeze-dried meals, and a moka pot.

But MUSETTE’s true roots are in bike racing, specifically that particular moment when you fly into a shop mid-ride for what we call a “madman’s grocery run,” grabbing anything remotely edible: gummy worms, sausage sticks, bananas, chocolate, cheese rolls and everything else you can to stoke the fire. Toss it all in the MUSETTE, sling it over your shoulder and ride on. Eat as you go. And later, once the madness fades, you can move whatever’s left into your saddlebag. If anything’s left at all.

In relaxed bikepacking mode MUSETTE shines as a “last kilometre” bag for a quick pre-camp grocery, hauling things around the campsite or prepping your next day’s snack pack. It’s light, always there and instantly ready.

MUSETTE is made from a single layer of lightweight fabric. It’s the same waterproof nylon we use for our tarps. Durable, waterproof and upcycled from production leftovers. No padding, no lining, no fluff, just what you need. That’s how it comes in at under 30 grams, which is half the weight of the (now former) industry’s leader.

We designed our charming little bag to stay put while you’re on the move. To keep it from bouncing around while running or riding, we paired the classic shoulder strap with a stabilizing cord, just like the side straps on messenger bags. The central snap keeps contents from spilling out and the inner pocket is perfect for keys, coins, tissues. Flip it inside out and it becomes a compact stuff sack.
